Giving warmth and raising awareness  through charitable knitting.

Awareness, Respect, Compassion

Awareness, Respect, Compassion (ARC) is a non-profit, non-denominational NGO committed to advancing the welfare of human rights refugees and abused animals. We aspire to give hope and comfort to those in desperate circumstances by sending hand-knitted hats, scarves, mittens, socks, blankets, and sweaters to shelters throughout the U.S. and abroad.

We encourage you to read about our history, objectives and how we operate in the “About ARC” section. Throughout the website, you may also learn about our causes and the organizations to which we send knitted items. Get links to free knitting tutorials and patterns, or learn how to make your own knitting needles. Friends and contributors to ARC stay in the hearts of recipients, and are listed in the “Appreciation” page.

Community support is essential to rebuilding lives after escaping trauma and oppression. When faced with the overwhelming number of those you are compelled to knit for, resist apathy. Defy despair and remember: your compassion has the power to inspire and sustain.

Thank you for visiting ARC!
